We are proud to offer pelvic floor assessment and treatment for women of all ages dealing with incontinence and dyspareunia (pain with sexual activity), as well as male urinary incontinence.  Our physiotherapist has a combination of weightlifting and pelvic floor knowledge that will allow for a complete assessment and treatment plan focusing on your goals and the activities or workouts you enjoy doing.

We offer a variety of services. If you don't see what you need below please contact us.

No Client Overlap

All appointments are spent with your physiotherapist focusing only on you.  Our goal is to spend more one on one time with our clients providing thorough assessments, treatments, and education.  No overlapping of clients during their sessions.

Getting your acupuncture from a physiotherapist allows for a more comprehensive treatment, as the physiotherapist can use the acupuncture in conjuncture with other therapeutic approaches to help you recover faster.

Pelvic Floor Assessment/Treatment

Female incontinence and dyspareunia (pain with sexual activity) are common problems after childbirth, with peri-menopause and during menopause, but can also have other origins as well.  Male urinary incontinence is also an issue that can be corrected with pelvic floor retraining. A comprehensive assessment by a pelvic floor physiotherapist will involve an internal vaginal +/or rectal exam to assess your pelvic floor to provide specific treatment recommendations for your areas of dysfunction.

Home Exercise Programs

All clients will be provided with a home exercise program to empower them to take part in their rehabilitation and fitness goals.  The goal is to never stop moving.  Modifications and alternative exercises will be provided so the client can remain active while working through their recovery.

Soft Tissue Release/Joint Mobilizations

Active and passive muscle release and joint mobilizations can assist with increasing range of motion prior to exercise and can relieve pain and discomfort in the short term.  Following soft tissue release or joint mobilization, it is beneficial to strengthen these increased ranges of motion for long term results.

Modalities such as TENS, NMES, heat/ice and acupuncture may be a part of your treatment plan.  These modalities can assist with your rehab but are often a short term solution.  Clients are expected to take an active role in their recovery with exercise and movement being the main focus for long term recovery and results.

Mobile Assessment/Treatment

For some individuals, leaving their place of residence may not be an option.  Our physiotherapist will come to you if you live within Brandon.  Assessments and treatments can be completed in the privacy of your own home.

Telerehabilitation/Online Physiotherapy

The use of web based video conferencing systems to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via video  on your computer or smart phone via web camera to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit is not possible.
